In its inaugural session, the Sindh Women’s Parliamentary Caucus demonstrated a unified commitment to progressive initiatives by unanimously passing a resolution recognizing the exceptional contributions of the First Lady and Member of the National Assembly, Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari, towards polio eradication in Pakistan. The resolution was presented by Co-Convener MPA Maleeha Manzoor, who extended her gratitude to all signatories, including women parliamentarians from opposition benches, for their collective support in successfully adopting the resolution across the aisle.

As part of its opening proceedings, the Caucus also paid a heartfelt tribute to iconic women leaders who have shaped Pakistan’s history, including Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Begum Nusrat Bhutto, and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. The tribute acknowledged their unwavering dedication to the nation’s progress and the empowerment of women.

In addition, the Caucus tabled a resolution celebrating the remarkable strides made in advancing women’s rights, aligned with Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s vision for women empowerment. This resolution, too, garnered unanimous support from members across party lines, marking a significant milestone in the Caucus’s collaborative approach to advocating for gender equality and social development.
