The Sindh government is moving forward with plans to establish a new industrial enclave on 500 acres of land next to the Hyderabad-Tando Muhammad Khan Road. This initiative aims to create a thriving industrial hub that will benefit not only Hyderabad, the second-largest city in Sindh, but also surrounding areas. The enclave is expected to attract foreign investment, fostering significant economic growth and job creation in the region.
Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh, shared details of the project during a meeting of the Sindh Economic Zone Management Company (SEZMC). He emphasized that the industrial enclave will drive prosperity in secondary cities and surrounding regions while generating thousands of employment opportunities for the local workforce.
A comprehensive feasibility report and master plan for the 500-acre site at Ganju Takkar, located near Hyderabad, have already been completed. The project is now moving through the next stages of development before it is presented to the provincial cabinet for approval. The enclave is poised to offer lucrative opportunities for a variety of industries, including textiles, hosiery, cement, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, renewable energy, paper, glass, plastic, leather, jewellery, silk, and engineering.
Qamar also highlighted that both former President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are actively supporting initiatives aimed at boosting economic activity, stabilizing the country’s economy, and creating employment opportunities for the youth. He directed that all necessary steps be taken to ensure the early establishment of the industrial enclave, marking a major step towards industrial development in Sindh.
