In a decisive move to enforce traffic laws and ensure public safety, the Sindh government has seized a total of 11,276 motorcycles within a single week as part of a widespread crackdown on traffic violations across the province.
Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, revealed that 831 enforcement actions were taken against vehicles bearing fancy number plates, tinted windows, and other illegal modifications. In addition, 223 heavy and light transport vehicles (HTVs and LTVs) were confiscated for non-compliance with traffic regulations.
The Minister also disclosed that the registration of 25 vehicles has been recommended for cancellation, while 174 vehicle registrations have been temporarily suspended. These vehicles were conditionally released through Motor Vehicle Inspectors (MVIs) under strict terms.
Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that the crackdown is being carried out without any discrimination, with full cooperation from all relevant institutions. He reiterated the government’s commitment to public safety, rule of law, and maintaining order on the roads, adding that there will be no leniency for violators.
“All resources are being utilized to improve the traffic system and provide a safe environment for citizens,” the Minister stated. He stressed that vehicles without valid fitness certificates pose serious risks to public safety. Therefore, he urged all citizens to adhere to traffic laws and ensure that their vehicles are fully documented, including registration and fitness certificates.
This ongoing campaign reflects the government’s firm stance on traffic discipline and its dedication to creating safer roads for everyone.
