The Sindh Government, under the dynamic vision of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the leadership of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, has redefined urban transport through a series of groundbreaking initiatives that have modernized mobility, reduced congestion, and enhanced public convenience across the province.

From conventional routes to cutting-edge technology, the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) has introduced one of Pakistan’s most comprehensive and inclusive transport systems — a model of progressive governance and sustainable development.

🚍 Revolution in Motion: Existing Transport Initiatives

The Sindh Government’s transport transformation began with the launch of the People’s Bus Service, a modern and affordable city bus network that now connects major routes of Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, and other key cities.

Following its success, the White Electric Bus Service was introduced — Pakistan’s first public EV fleet aimed at reducing emissions and promoting green mobility.

Complementing this innovation, the Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Green Line Hybrid BRT have brought high-capacity, punctual, and comfortable travel options for thousands of daily commuters, significantly improving traffic flow and accessibility.

Marking a historic milestone in women’s empowerment, the Pink Bus Service — Pakistan’s first-ever women-only bus network — has provided safety, dignity, and independence to female passengers.

Further extending inclusivity, the EV Pink Scooty Scheme for Women enables working women and students to travel freely and confidently across urban areas, promoting mobility and self-reliance.

🚦 The Road Ahead: Upcoming Transport Initiatives

The Sindh Government’s vision for the future remains ambitious and transformative. Among the upcoming projects:

Double-Decker Red Bus Service: Designed to offer scenic urban travel while increasing passenger capacity and modernizing public routes. EV Pink Taxi Service: A women-driven, women-only taxi network — furthering empowerment and safe travel. White EV Taxi Service: A smart, environment-friendly alternative for urban commuters. Yellow Line EV BRT Service: A fully electric bus corridor integrating with existing routes to form a seamless city-wide transport grid.

These projects reinforce the government’s commitment to sustainable mobility and green energy, reflecting Sindh’s leadership in transport innovation.
