
In a revolutionary stride toward educational empowerment, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)-led Sindh government has completed the largest teacher recruitment process in Pakistan’s history, marking a significant achievement in the journey toward a more educated and prosperous Sindh.
Fulfilling its commitment to public service, the Sindh Education Department has issued offer letters to 93,118 newly appointed teachers, selected purely on merit through a transparent third-party testing system conducted by the prestigious IBA Sukkur. This historic recruitment includes:
• 65,147 Primary School Teachers (PST)
• 27,701 Junior Elementary School Teachers (JEST)
• 31,075 women educators, reinforcing the province’s drive for women’s empowerment
• 1,330 differently-abled candidates
• 2,100 teachers from minority communities
Among the newly appointed teachers are PhD holders, engineers, and other highly educated professionals, reflecting a significant upsurge in the quality of the teaching workforce.

■ Karachi Division: 7,444 PST | 5,643 JEST
■ Hyderabad Division: 17,075 PST | 6,904 JEST
■ Sukkur Division: 11,619 PST | 4,183 JEST
■ Larkana Division: 11,145 PST | 4,034 JEST
■ Mirpurkhas Division: 7,513 PST | 2,916 JEST
■ Shaheed Benazirabad Division: 10,261 PST | 4,020 JEST
This initiative has not only brought quality human resources into the education system but also revived over 5,000 non-functional schools across the province. With the student-teacher ratio now improved to 34.59, Sindh is taking firm steps toward delivering quality education to every child.
Training and Future Vision
The newly inducted teachers will soon undergo comprehensive training programs, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet modern pedagogical standards. This bold move is aligned with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision of a literate, progressive, and equitable Sindh.
Minister for Education, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, congratulated all successful candidates and emphasized the importance of performing duties with honesty, dedication, and a sense of purpose. He proudly shared inspirational stories of success, including the achievement of four sisters from one family who passed the competitive test, highlighting the program’s far-reaching impact.
